  1. I was most comfortable when I was assigned to create posts that would appear on Herald of Truth’s social media. Truth be told, it was one of the only things I did and I was adept in content creation already, nonetheless, I was comfortable. The things I created included small picture graphics including quotes and Bible verses which allowed me to demonstrate some creativity. Apart from days I was sick with COVID or encountered an issue, I created a graphic for every day of the week. These varied from typical small verses to entire parables of the Bible in order to the end of the year.

  1. I was most uncomfortable when I was assigned to call different churches for a PR project with a new overseer. It is not necessarily the work that was all too uncomfortable, but the situation surrounding that work, namely timing. The work itself only required that I exit my comfort zone and introverted ways and effectively communicate with new people professionally. This was a task that I was able to accomplish during my time despite the inclusion of rude persons on the other line. The document I was using to do this assignment was expansive. Working this document into my own schedule late into the spring 2022 semester was difficult and ultimately demanded much more of me than was reasonable or healthy to give.

  1. My faith came into play in my internship experience in almost every aspect. I was, of course, working for a Church of Christ ministry and thus everything I produced for them was centered around my faith. Personally, I experienced challenges with my own faith while working there in terms of patience, work ethic, and even things that went beyond that setting and into my personal life. My supervisor not only guided me through my work but also reached out and offered guidance through things I faced daily as I came to work. I regret that I had to cut my work with them short, however, it ultimately became necessary to protect my mental health.

  1. An ethical dilemma I grappled with was the overall purpose behind my work. Ultimately, the things I created and did were for the purpose of gaining attention and gaining revenue from it. I began to question whether what I was doing was actually in service of the church or was simply disguised as such. Ultimately I resolved this dilemma by simply focusing on my own efforts and why I myself was doing this. I decided that, while indeed a revenue is important, If I am going to be using the Word of God, it would be for the ultimate purpose of bringing Him Glory.

  1. The fieldwork opened my eyes to the nature of business in the world. My father had taught me that everywhere I look, even if I do not see it, there is business going on. I was creating graphics and reaching out to different churches. In essence, I realized that I was participating in both public relations and networking. Even in the sense of religious service, business was taking place. It ultimately made me open both my eyes and mind and allowed me to better understand and clue into the world around me. Indirectly, my internship allowed my mind to expand far beyond what it had been.

  1. My on-the-job internship supervisor was one of the kindest men I have come to know. He was gracious with me, offered me advice, was patient, and tried to work with me the best that he could. In addition, there was a time this semester when my car suffered a failure on the road and needed immediate service. He came and picked me up from my apartment and brought me home and brought me to work a few times. He checked on me afterward to make sure that I had retrieved my car safely. Under his guidance, I was treated very well and respected.

  1. I often wished I knew how to edit and make videos or motion graphics. Everything I did I already had some adept ability to do, however, I wanted to do more and create a lasting mark. With that in mind, I sought to advance my ability to do so while working there, although it never came to fruition. Most of the posts I had seen on their social media pages before I had arrived appeared to be dated as other pages continued to adapt to society. Therefore even though I could not help as much in the way of technological innovation, I did my best to advance them in terms of content.

  1. I functioned at or above expectations because knew how to effectively communicate and reach different people. Before I arrived, I was already adept at social media, how it functioned, and how to garner attention. To that end, I created a calendar of events and content to achieve that goal. The content was presented regularly, with variance, and made with the type of viewers in mind. I presented verses that were well known and relatively unspoken of, yet relevant to the current climate of society. In addition, I made it my mission to use imagery that was both relevant and pleasing to the eye so as to capture the attention of new viewers.
